Welcome to River Rock Ranch Alpacas and Apiaries! We are a proud to say that we operate a family run farm and that we are
totally involved in all aspects of both our alpaca and apiary ventures. Lisa started off just wanting a few fibre alpacas in 2001 but we soon found out that we were all spellbound by these magnificent animals. Our herd has grown quickly and hovers around 30. Our goal is to continue improving the quality of our colored huacaya herd. We have a wide variety of genetics in our herd and continue to add to that variety with outside breedings and bloodlines We know that this is an ever changing industry and continue to attend shows, seminars and workshops to expand our knowledge. We are active members of the Canadian Llama and Alpaca Association (CLAA) and the Alpaca Canada subdivision, Alpaca Livestock Producers And Co-operators Association (A.L.P.A.C.A.), Alpaca Registry International (ARI) and CanCam (Canadian Camelid Fibre Co-operative). We have always appreciated the help that we have received from fellow breeders and strive to do the same for others. Questions are encouraged and we love to share what we have learned. Lisa is a fibre craft enthusiast and loves to do custom orders and creations as well as providing quality alpaca products from CanCam.
Jason managed to achieve his lifetime dream when we purchased an apiary in 2005. We run approximately 600 beehives, so you could say that things are really "buzzing" around here in the summer. We are members of the Alberta Beekeepers Association as well as the Alberta Honey Producers Co-operative (Bee Maid Honey). Other than the obvious product, honey, Lisa also creates a variety of all natural cosmetics, soaps, candles as well as flavour infused honeys. By combining our two very different ventures, we are very pleased to be able to offer a unique variety of all natural products .
